Dreams, Dreamers and Expectations

The problem with being by myself is that I think about things, or some annoying song runs through my head and drives me insane. So today, I was thinking about dreams. Not the type in your sleep, although I had a doozy of a dream the other night ( but that's another story) but the type that you want to come true.

I think you can have dreams without being a dreamer, but dreamers always have dreams. Our mother had dreams; she had dreams of bettering herself, and she made that dream come true by going back to school while working full-time and raising a family. Our dad on the other hand, is a dreamer. His dream is that he's a philosopher, psychologist and artist. I'm not saying he isn't, but not in a manner that he would be paid to philosophize, analyze people or have people commission him to do artwork. I don't know if my soap business is a dream that I can make come true, or if I'm just being a dreamer. What inspired this thought was reading this article It makes sense, but taking the plunge is scary and not being the risk taking type, it's doubly so.

Are you a risk taker, or do you prefer to play it safe? Happy weekend everyone.

If I could save time in a bottle

The first thing I'd do, unlike Jim Croce, is give as much to my sister as she wanted. I'm sure her epitaph's going to read "Just 5 more minutes?"

I can't believe it's been almost a year since I started soaping. Well it's been over a year but my website is  just coming up for renewal now, so that's how I count the time. I must admit, I started off enthusiastically, but have sort of waned since then. Again, I am in awe of all you moms out there who do all that you do and then some. If I had kids, they'd be eating whatever they could scrape off the floor on many occasions because I'd be too lazy to cook.

I know a lot of it is just learning to manage my time better, be more organized and just give myself a good kick in the butt to get going. But like so many others around me, it's easier to give into being overwhelmed by all that needs to be done and then just do nothing.

So, how do you motivate yourself to do the things you don't feel like doing?
